CREATING A CUSTOM WATERCOLOR OR ILLUSTRATION

So we're creating a custom watercolor or illustration for you! Because these are time consuming, and done by hand, making edits can be tough and take lots of time, which is why I always like to get them right the first time! To do that, I need as much info from you as possible, so let’s get started! If you don't have a strong preference about any of the below pieces, that's fine too, just let me know what you do have opinions or feel strongly about and I can take it from there!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Images: Please email me (at caitlin@wouldntitbelovely.com) images of the venue (or whatever scene/florals/etc we're doing a watercolor or illustration of) be sure to let me know if there's a certain angle you prefer, certain lighting/coloring you want to focus on (sunset, daytime, softer colors verses bright and vibrant etc. etc.) The higher the resolution the better as it allows me to really zoom in on the features. If you're sending multiple images with different pieces you'd like me to focus on, please let me know what images are for what purpose, i.e. "I want the sunset to look like this" or "I want the building to be at this angle"

  • Changes/edits from the images: If there's anything in an image that you want me to remove or add in please let me know. i.e. you don't want me to paint the surrounding buildings, or the photo was taken in the spring but you want the leaves to look more like fall colors, or the flowers in the photo are red but you want them to be blush to match your wedding colors, I can do that, I just need to know what you want me to take artistic license with!

  • Added elements: If there's something you'd like to be in the picture that isn't shown, i.e. a lake in the background, or something in the distance, let me know so I can be sure to include it.

  • Orientation: if you want the invitation to be a horizontal or a vertical orientation, or you just want it to be at the bottom, or maybe the top- basically if you feel strongly about some kind of layout, let me know, otherwise I'll typically do what I think looks best!

The most important thing is that we can create an image you love. Include in your price quote are multiple of small edits of the watercolor painting, editing fonts and colors, and the editorial of the text and layout design. If you decide to change the subject of the watercolor or photo I'm working on for the water color after the first proof (I.E. I'm starting the painting from scratch), additional design fees will apply (please refer to your design contract for more details) So the more detail and info I have from you before I start, the more likely I can create your perfect painting on the first go! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Looking forward to creating something beautiful with you!
