Fabulous Food Displays

creative food displays

One of the design challenges at my new job is creating visually compelling food displays. We have lots of amazing chef active stations and buffet options, and want to display all the delicious food in a fresh way. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for inspiration, and these are some of the designs that have stood out to me. Have you seen any awesome food displays lately?

Design Process: Custom Wedding Save the Dates

I thought I would share a little inspiration board I put together for one of my clients. We're just at the beginning of the design process, we've been putting together an inspiration board on Pinterest since our initial consult a couple months ago. Through that process, we've discovered what direction we want to go in. I decided to create this board to really hone in on the details I want us to focus on and make sure we're on the same page.  We're experimenting with lots of fun materials and printing processes and I can't wait to see it all come together!

Ingredients for a "Glam Romance" Wedding

I thought it might be fun to start creating wedding table "recipes". Listing all the design elements you need to create a certain look and feel. For the first "recipe" I decided to go with Glam Romance, which calls for subtle shimmer and modern lines. Ghost chairs and Lucite table numbers keep the design feeling modern and fresh. Bring in petal or sequin linens for texture and shine. Compliment that texture with modern gold flatware, vintage pink glasses, and white plates. By mixing the modern flatware with the vintage pink hobnail glass, you keep the overall feel modern without going too too mod. Last but not least bring in dripping overflowing florals in mono-tones of whites and light pinks complemented with lots of candlelight! I love the blush white and champagne color palette for this look too! But you can easily swap out other metallics or even bring in a dark accent color if you want to add a bit more drama to the overall look!

Wedding Colors: Neon Pink

I'm not typically a huge fan of pink, but currently I'm loving it in small hits in a palette that's primarily white and other neutrals. The edge of a napkin, an accent sign, or the boarder of an invitation, small hits make a big impact. When adding bright and saturated colors to your wedding palette, there's no need to go overboard, avoid entirely pink table linens and instead opt for a bright vase on a textured neutral. Sometimes, less is more!

Wedding Flower Obsession: Magnolias

Magnolia Wedding Flowers

The only reason I can come up with as to why I have never been introduced to magnolias is because I've always lived in the north east . Why are these so popular in the south but essentially non existent here? I know there's a climate difference and everything, but still, that's no excuse. THEY'RE AMAZING. One of my brides this year posted magnolias on the Pinterest board we were creating for her wedding and I can't stop thinking about them. I'll be doing a lot more floral work at my new job, so I've been boning up on all things botanical. I've been reading the Floral Recipe Book, and it's pretty awesome, I highly recommend it if you're into creating floral arrangements. SO, I've been learning more about flowers, and as a result, finding new personal favorites, and Magnolias are definitely at the top of my list!
